Rectangular tebako box with décor of shells and pine seedlings, the shells in raised takamakie with décor in various techniques of kabuto helm, a kite, a bugaku stage, a heron and takarabune treasure ships, all on a black lacquer ground with finely sprinkled kimpun gold powder and nashiji gold flakes, the inside and bottom with nashiji gold flakes, the rims in solid silver, signed on the end: Mushu on an inlayed mother-of-pearl placque. Comes with its original fitted paulownia-wood tomobako storage box inscribed: naga tebako kaiwase makie (Long Accessory Box with Shells in Maki-e Gold Lacquer) and signed Mushu with a black seal mark reading: Mushu -
