Description
This totally iconic 19th century Kurdish wide Kellegi (long rug) shows a =n open abrashed red field supporting a navy octogramme medallion enclosing four petal palmettes and a red forked arabesque. Light blue layered palmette pendants. Navy broadly stepped corners en suite with the medallion. Navy "tangerine flower" rosette and lancet leaf strip style main border. Inscriptions are rare for Bidjar carpets. Compact weave. Good condition.
