Description
This ascending design often includes very stylized dragons, stylistically descending from the west Caucasian "dragon" carpets of the 17th century. The rust-red field shows palmettes, crouches, small octagons, ecru panels and other characteristic forms. The goldenrod yellow quite pronounced and attractive. Goldenrod border of kilim-like fringed octagonal medallions. Outermost bitonal "running dog" border. Weft wrapping technique yields a flat, pileless carpet. Natural dyes. Good condition.
