Description
The picturesque, old Persian capital, which since the early 20th century has woven fine or extremely fine scatters to large carpets, often in complex medallion or allover layouts, with crisp colors, and generally ivory fields and red borders. Weaving began with Ahmad in the 1920's. Serafian is one of the better known recent weavers. Isfahans are often signed. Short, velvety pile. A Persian's Persian rug. Expensive to very expensive.
