Description
East rather than west Caucasian, this sapphire blue ground Kenare (runner) displays four red pinched oval medallions, with secondary Kufesque squares and tertiary geometric ivory flowers. Ecru main border with chalices and slanted, serrated leaves. Minors in blue and green. Wool foundation. Visible spot wear almost to distress. Natural dyes. More likely Kuba than Kazak given the intricacy of the pattern, facture and format.
