Antique Tehran Rug 4'7'' x 7'3''. Tehran rugs being made for the top level of Persian society, are always of high quality, both in design and materials. This urban scatter shows a straw-cream field centred by four radiating navy palmettes with supporting serpentine cloud bands, sickle leaves, corner pointed ovals and other motives. Deep raspberry border with tilted petal palmettes, escutcheon palmettes and palmettes in ecru reserves. Cotton foundation, fine weave. Good condition.
