Antique handmade Turkish/Anatolian Oushak carpet, natural dyed wool on wool foundation with traditional design of central medallion on most amazing open field pistachio green background color and sarunded with fabulas wide main border andsmaller one with also pistachio green color, yellow background and redish orange and peach floral motives. c-1880, very fine quality. Measures: 11'1" x 14'6".

Its condition is very good, nice short even pile throughout the rug, the two ends are secured and the two sides are original and secured. It has been professionally cleaned and ready to be use on any floor.

Ushak rugs have been in production since the 15th century with superb wool and natural dyes. Unlike other Turkish rugs, Ushak rugs influenced after Persian rugs and the woven with Ghiordies knots and all double knotted, their design is feature intricate motifs of vines and leaves and typically based on geometric motifs.
