Finnish Geometrical Flat-Weave Carpet in Natural Tones, Wool, Finland 1930s
-
Description
A beautiful functionalist period Finnish flat weave carpet. Hand made in the 1930s with great resemblance to or possibly by the renowned Finnish textile artist Greta Skogster-Lehtinen.
The rug is sizable at 250x300 and is in good condition considering the age. Some really small hardly noticable spots or marks. Most of the fringes are missing. The geometrical motifs are typical of the functionalist period and were widely used by carpet designers. The rug has natural earthy tones that are neutral and can easily fit different interiors. -
