This graceful antique Chinese rug before your eyes is a paragon of the aesthetics of its time. The late 19th-century antique Chinese carpet was carefully hand-knotted out of the finest silk in accordance with traditional techniques which shows in its luminous and soft pile as well as outstanding quality. Despite its old age, the vintage silk Chinese rug looks as if it was just taken down from the looms. If properly maintained, it will serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear. It purple main field carries a playful polychrome trellis overall of angular scrolling vines and stylized lotuses within a pink border with sparse purple cloud forms.
