Vintage Rag Rug Runner 1
-
Description
- An art form derived from necessity, rag rugs were traditionally made from discarded clothing. Through braiding and stitching, these cast-off pieces were given a second life and transformed into usable art by domestic makers.
- This runner was made by hand in Europe and features a beautiful plaid pattern comprised of criss-crossing bands of yellows, reds, greens, blues, and browns. Its two short edges are trimmed with a charming pink polka dot fabric.
- This one-of-a-kind rug is in good antique condition, with overall wear consistent with age and use. Please see our detailed photos. -
