Vintage Rag Rug Runner 3
-
Description
- An art form derived from necessity, rag rugs were traditionally made from discarded clothing. Through braiding and stitching, these cast-off pieces were given a second life and transformed into usable art by domestic makers.
- This runner was made by hand in Europe and features broad stripes in pink, blue, red, green, and taupe. Each stripe is bordered with a narrow black and white herringbone accent.
- This one-of-a-kind rug is in good antique condition, with wear consistent with age and use, particularly on the light blue stripe at its end. Please see our detailed photos. -
