A fine quality antique Japanese Meiji era enamel plate,

The central medallion depicts a scene with birds and butterflies sitting on a blooming branch.

The central part is surrounded by six medallions depicting picturesque scenes with partridge birds, flowers and butterflies on a ground decorated with stylized geometric motifs.

The backside is decorated with a swirl ornament made in the Cloisonne technique.

Has a hanging mechanism on the backside. Unmarked. late 19th Century

Dimensions: D 10 1/2 in. All measurements are approximate.
