Description
Rare set of Astrale hand-blown plates/shallow bowls with unique large complex murrhine in bottom by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Italy early-1960's. This set includes 6 plates and 4 shallow bowls. These were incredibly hard to execute. There are only a few pieces from the Astrale Series known to exist, including one shown in the 1960 Biennale. These is a mesmerizing set by Anzolo Fuga.

Anzolo Fuga, Murano Glass Artist by Rosa Barovier-Mentasti, Acanthus Press 2005, a general description of the Astrale Series 1960-65 on page 169, this set was cataloged by Rosa Barovier-Mentasti for her book and one piece from this set is shown on page 170 with the description, “Astrale plate, one of six, variation, 1960-65, diam. 24.75 cm.”
