Ercole Barovier & Toso Cordonato D’oro Golden Murano Glass Bowl, Italy, 1960s
-
Description
A stunning and relatively large Murano art glass Bullicante Mid-Century bowl from the 1960s, hand-blown by Barovier e Toso, Italy. Made of thick clear glass, the bowl is solid and heavy, and distinguished by its scalloped form with rope-like elements radiating from the center. These are enriched with beautiful gold-dust inclusions, known as “Cordonato d’Oro” (golden rope), which give the piece a shimmering and sparkling appearance. The organic, hand-crafted shape evokes delicate flower petals. An exceptional statement piece that is both decorative and functional, the bowl can be used as a vide-poche / empty-pocket tray / catch-all bowl, or as an elegant serving piece — for example, it would provide an exquisite presentation for caviar. Very good vintage condition, free of any damage. Diameter 8 inches, height 2.5 inches.
