Pair of Emile Puiforcat, French 0.950 (higher purity than sterling) silver vegetable bowls in Art Deco style, from the early 20th century, in beautiful, geometrically-inspired design, measuring 10 1/2'' in length by 8 7/8'' in width by 1 7/8'' in height, weighing 47.6 troy ounces, and bearing hallmarks and a monogram on one of them as shown.

Founded in 1820 by Emile Puiforcat, the Parisian family workshop has passed down its renowned silverwork mastery from one generation to the next. It was the visionary leadership and artistic talent of Jean E. Puiforcat, the fourth generation in the workshop, that truly brought the world’s attention to Puiforcat; his design legacy was a significant contribution to the studio, and in turn a major contribution to the international Art De?co movement of his time.
