Description
Used more for social interactions than everyday imbibing, this Mongolian libation cup accompanied a scholar to social gatherings held by literati known as “yaji.” As part of these stimulating confabs, scholars would discuss and execute paintings and calligraphic works, sipping inspiration spirits from libation cups. A segment of curved horn describes the shape of the simple, unadorned cup, its direct connection to nature being a central tenet of scholarly aesthetics. We love its timeless organic appeal as a vase or decorative object. // Depth: 1.75"
