Dutch Neoclassical silver tea caddy, 1805. Oval bowl; cover hinged and domed with silver-mounted wood finial. Beading and fluting. An austere vessel for keeping fresh the precious leaves. On underside, engraved English-language presentation dated 1906. Marks include maker’s stamp (Jacob van Nieuwcasteel), city stamp (Utrecht), and date letter. Very good condition.
