Vintage Martha Sturdy Blackened Gilt Bronze Patinated Bowl, Signed

Offered is an organic modern blackened and gilt bronze patinated bowl by Canadian sculptor and jewelry designer Martha Sturdy.

Sturdy works in numerous mediums including resin, bronze, brass, steel and salvaged wood. Her jewelry and wearable sculpture has been featured in American, Italian and French Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Architectural Digest. Throughout her career as a sculptor her work has remained focused on natural monumentality and balanced composition with the intent of reflecting the proportions of our environment.

This series of home accessories was handcrafted between 1988 and 1998, per Martha's daughter, Jessica, who has assumed the reins of running her current studio, Studio Sturdy. This piece retains remnants of the original label which reads "Martha Sturdy Canada"
