Editions Picasso Madoura Picador round dish.
Picasso had been using the image of the Picador in his artworks throughout his career.
The theme of bullfighting has been one of his most important and recognizable. In this bowl, Picasso presents the image of the Picador using simple and expressive strokes, atop a horse and wearing the recognizable hat. Black oxide glazed white earthenware From the edition of 500. Edition Picasso and Madoura stamps on base Inscribed 'Edition Picasso' Ref: Ramié 176.
No chips or restorations. There were 6 bowls of this size with differing images, editioned of 500 each and executed in a similar way.
