Description
For your consideration we have an extraordinary large English opaque blue and white transferware platter.
This piece was made on Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire by Thomas Minton (1765-1836). The pattern name is "Chinese Marine" and was released in 1825, it has an early cursive "M" mark in center of the blue back stamp for Minton in 1822-1836.
The platter has a wide bordure of flowers and a gadroon edge, the center is the best part having a Chinese palace in the back foreground there are several pagodas, Chinese court figures, bridge and a junk boat with its crew.
Everywhere you look there are stunning designs workmanship is of the highest quality.
