An 18th Century tent stitch silkwork embroidery of a shepherd with his flock of sheep. The piece is worked in tent stitch, using silk threads. Colours blue, green, silver, brown and pink. Subject depicts a shepherd holding his crook and a pipe, with sheep around him. A dog and trees in the background. Framed in an old, patterned frame with rippled, old glass. Mounting: The embroidery is lightly taped to the cardboard surround. Frame backed with card, then wood and sealed with tape.. Dimensions exclude the frame and slip.
