Vintage Wool Blanket by Early's Witney Point
-
Description
- We’ve been on the hunt for the perfect blanket and have finally found it: this graphic vintage piece in a rare palette of camel and black from Early’s Witney Point.
- Early’s textile tradition dates back to 1669, when Thomas Early began his weaving practice in Witney, England. Since then, the family has continued to manufacture high-quality woven goods in their Oxfordshire-based factory. This soft, thick blanket was manufactured around 1960 and is made from 100% pure wool. This design is known as a "four point blanket," taking its name from the short, stitched lines woven into one edge. The number of points were meant to indicate the coverlet's size and ultimately, its value.
- The crisp color palette gives this piece a masculine edge. It would be a striking addition to a bed, sofa, or chair back in a modern interior.
- This blanket is in very good vintage condition, with one area of wear to its surface. Please see our detailed photos and kindly note that this piece is sold as-is. -
