Pair of Chinese ancestor portraits of a Mandarin dignitary and his wife. She is wearing a red robe and he is wearing a blue robe. Both robes have an insignia with a phoenix bird indicating their rank. She is wearing an elaborate headdress of pearls and gem stones. Tempura on paper, hand painted red mat with a gilded inner edge, gilded frame.
