Description
A French framed oil on canvas harbor painting from the late 20th century, titled 'Le Port de Trouville sur Mer' by Gérard Barthélémy. Created during the last decade of the 20th century, this oil on canvas painting depicts the quiet harbor of Trouville located in Normandy, Northern France. Marked by a strong diagonal leading the eye throughout the scene, the painting is executed with large impressionistic strokes. The shops and restaurants on the left stand out beautifully on a blue sky with discreet clouds and birds while the right side of the composition showcases the rhythmic presence of a few dinghies. Signed Barthelemy lower right, the painting is set inside a giltwood frame. The back presents a label with the titled "Trouville" and date 1996 and mentioning Gérard Barthélémy as the winner of the medal of French Artists and of the Salon of the National Navy.
