Contemporary New York artist Peter Buchman's "Just another thing hanging over your head." is made of enamel, house paint, plaster on wood and a gold leaf frame. Peter Buchman's sketchbooks are filled with his writings, his notes, his verbal outbursts, his jokes, his lists of words, ideas, banter - his Rap. People think it's a print because they can't see or imagine the texture of this painting. Peter spent hours building up the surface of the wood canvas until he was happy with the plaster-putty texture. Then he sanded the work down with his power tools until he saw a balance that was receptive for paint, and his words. It was a very personal process for him. Maybe that's why so many people have been drawn to this large piece of work by him which is opposite of a Jackson Pollock visually, yet almost as compelling. Signed, titled and dated on verso. This piece ships directly from the artist’s studio in East Hampton, NY.
