From the series e·the·re·al, this work captures a moment suspended between materiality and dissolution. A deep violet form pools at the base, anchoring the composition with weight and mystery. From this grounded center, soft gradients rise vertically, stretching and fading into translucence. The effect is fluid and breath-like, as though something unseen is exhaling through the piece. The vertical motion implies both emergence and departure — a presence becoming or unbecoming. Subtle textural details within the darker core evoke organic structures, while the surrounding lightness dissolves any fixed interpretation. It feels simultaneously corporeal and ghostly, a figure caught between physical form and spirit. The composition invites slow looking, offering an emotional stillness that mirrors the quiet energy within. Like the rest of the e·the·re·al series, it dwells in the liminal: between light and shadow, presence and absence, definition and blur — asking the viewer to consider what exists in the spaces between.

ABOUT ANDREAS ANASTASIS
Andreas Anastasis is a London-born, New York-based multidisciplinary artist whose sculptural, photographic, and cinematic works radiate emotional gravity and mythic depth. Born in 1975, Anastasis draws profoundly from his Greek-Cypriot ancestry, channeling classical mythology through a soulful, contemporary lens. His creations do not simply echo the past—they reawaken it. Through form, shadow, and movement, he captures a reverence for the human experience, rendering the ephemeral eternal and the sacred tangible.
Working seamlessly across mediums, Anastasis transforms his subjects into living relics of transformation. Each sculpture emerges through a process of performative creation—a ritual of movement, emotion, and energy—culminating in resin forms that feel both ancient and alive.
