Playing In Eden

Sold Sold
  • Description
This large oil painting of Francesca’s uses the idea of Eden as an exotic place where figures live among the plants. The plants are enlarged within the landscape to emphasise their significance. The palette is earthy and lifted by the red tones and by the lightness in the sky. The elongated figure is outstretched and opened up to catch the sun, a symbol of possibilities of light, life and warmth. It is a classic painting which draws a lot on history of writers and painters gone by but brought very much into the now through the use of paint and composition.

Francesca Owen is an award winning artist who trained at the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art in London and completed an MA at Falmouth University.
Francesca has worked with both UK and International galleries, exhibiting paintings and installation, giving talks and courses on landscape painting, pigments and dyes.
Francesca has exhibited work in SE Asia, London, Devon and Cornwall.
