Under the Skin - Nude Female Figures, Caryatids, Oil Painting in Brown Colors
-
Description
This figurative surrealist oil painting on canvas measures 52 x 64-inch. The primary colors are earth tones, with accents of red and blue. The bodies of four female nudes, sitting in a specular composition, create an opening over a luminous world existing beyond the surface. The four figures have the same monumental presence of Greek caryatids supporting the roof of a temple. The painting balances abstraction and figuration as the four nude figures are not immediately recognizable because of the specular and intricate composition they are part of.
