Description
Italian religious painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas painting depicting a splendid Holy Family with the sleeping baby Jesus. Painting of remarkable pictorial quality that stands out for its compositional balance, warm tones and refined style. The affectionate gestures of Saint Joseph and the Madonna manage to convey to us the sweetness and love that all parents feel towards their children. In the background a large green cloth, with a rich and enveloping drapery, guides our gaze towards a landscape glimpse that gives depth to the composition. 20th century frame in carved and lacquered wood, with some signs of aging. Painting already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and repainting of the color in small spots. Overall in good condition. Interior size H 119 x W 97 cm.
