Very well executed oil on academy board by the well known American marine and portrait painter, Sam Sargent. Signed lower left “S. Sargent”. Signed verso, “Newburyport Studio, S. Sargent”. Condition is very good. Circa 1935.
Overall framed measurements are 27 by 32 inches. Provenance: A New England estate.
Sam Sargent, artist (1889-1958). Born in Newburyport, MA, and one of the founders of the Newburyport Art Association. Studied at Massachusetts College of Art.
