Description
This is thought to be the companion painting to "Waiting their Turn", which is shown in Fig. 23 on page 31 of the 1976 Hahn catalogue. Both paintings are set in Monterey and, as described in the catalogue, "The saddled horses standing patiently in the yard outside a country dwelling are the same horses, in almost the same setting, pictured in another painting, "Horses Awaiting Riders, 1882".
