    BIG BANG – QUEEN ELIZABETH TOWER | LONDON 1968 (photo Arthur Steel) A workman in the process of demolishing the old St.Thomas’s Hospital. Camera & Film: Leicaflex SL2, 90mm, Kodak Tri-X Pan ISO 400.

    Arthur recalls: “On my way into Fleet Street I used to drive past St. Thomas’s Hospital. In 1968 it was being demolished to make way for a new modern building. Early one morning I realised that I could see the Houses of Parliament sticking up above the rubble. Needless to say, I screeched to a halt.”
