Description
Magnificent George Nakashima for Widdicomb king size headboard, circa 1960s. The headboard features a dramatic, sweeping form that is regal and elegant. Surface is incredibly clean, laurel wood veneer has a stunning grain whose lines move with the form.
Part of the “Origins Collection” Nakashima designed for Widdicomb in 1959. The series featured pagoda-like details and a laurel veneer finish that Nakashima called “Sundra,” Sanskrit for “thing of beauty.” This piece measures 42-1/2in tall x 100-1/2in. Provenance: The Adelman Estate Collection. This headboard is double sided so bed can be used in the middle of the room. -

This piece is in very nice vintage condition with only minor signs of age. The finish is original and still looks great. There is one tiny darker mark to very top edge-very hard to notice-see photos.
