Rare Thomasville Carved Walnut & Cane Queen Size Headboard Dated 1966

Description
In my decades in this industry, I have never come across this particular bedroom set before. The owner of the affluent home I purchased it from told me upon pickup that they had had family members that worked for Thomasville, and that perhaps she had gotten some opportunity at a prototype bedroom. That testimony combined with the rarity of this set tells me that these pieces might be unique. Based on public records for Thomasville-owned copyright, this set was never even advertised.
Despite their rarity, their production quality is top notch just like the more common Thomasville. High-end classic mid-century walnut finish, with wonderful graining and carved solid walnut accents. This model features cane backing beneath the walnut, and a spire at either end, giving this piece an almost art-deco feel. Signed by a stamp on the back dating this piece to 1966.
In great vintage and original condition. Few to no blemishes, caning fully intact. - More Information
