Art Deco bar cabinet, rosewood veneer and nickel, France circa 1940
Wonderful French Art Deco bar cabinet / dry bar in palisander / rosewood veneer and nickel parts from France around 1940.
Rosewood veneered and high-gloss lacquered on the front and sides. The veneer at the bottom doors is set in pyramid shape and vertically and is invertedly repeated so at the two upper doors.
The newly nickel-plated original brass fittings are matching the inclined shape of the veneer. Around the middle and side is one broad, thick nickel plated brass trim running.
The bottom inside is all veneered in oak and has two shelves, which can be taken out. The top inside is mirrored on three sides and has a lighting as a flashlight under original frosted glass at the top. The light goes on / off with open- / closing of the upper door. On the inside of the door, which have also been lacquered in the restoration, are each two original nickel frames mounted with glass plates. The front plate can be folded out and has the original creme-white resopal surface, which is still in very good condition. The doors are locked with the original rod locks ash the top and bottom.
All the metal parts are original and have been newly nickel plated. All hinges and mechanisms work smoothly. Especially worth mentioning are the high-quality hinges of with the bar has six at the top and four in the bottom compartment.
On the back, there is a newly electrified cable with european plug. - More Information
