Attributed to Jacob and/or Heinrich Blatt
Notes: inscribed “1849” on the underside. The back board has a swatch of paint where the artist tested out his technique before painted the chest, which is often found on furniture from the Blatt shop. A nearly identical chest, signed by Jacob and Heinrich Blatt and dated 1832, is in the collection of Winterthur Museum. See Paint, Pattern & People, p. 189. -
