Mid-Century Modern Robsjohn Gibbings Japanese Oak Credenza - 1960s
-
Description
Influenced by George Nakashima this vintage sideboard has been made in Japan. Robsjohn Gibbings worked for the same company as Nakashima called Widdicomb. This particular piece is more high-end than the Widdicomb furniture pieces so it was probably a bespoke piece, also suggested by it's unusually large size. We also have the large matching dining table available to complete the dining room. The elegant saber legs reference to the typical Japanese shrine. Also be aware that oak was a very precious and prestigious wood in Japan.
