Carlo de Carli Rosewood Sideboard for Sormani, Italy, 1964
-
Description
This rosewood sideboard/credenza was designed by Carlo de Carli and produced by Sormani in 1964. The large sideboard is executed in a combination of solid and veneered rosewood. The particularly striking brass feet and handles give the piece a light and modern feel. The design is completed by the black glass top and raised shelf.
The D154 range was produced by Sormani in several variations and sizes. This generously sized sideboard with four compartments is particularly hard to find as it was only produced on a small-scale. A prototype of the credenza was exhibited at the "Colori e forme nella casa d'oggi" exhibition in Como in 1957. -
