Inscribed John Wood, Jr. Philadelphia
Retaining the original bill of sale to Richard Topliss, dated February 23, 1768.
A handwritten note by Anna L. Duhring dated November 15, 1884 taped to the interior of the waist door describes the line of descent:
From Richard Topliss (Great Grandfather) to her Grandmother Johnson when she was married in 1799. In 1817, the clock was taken to their newly built house on 4th street.
Anna Duhring inherited the clock in 1884 after the death of her Aunt Jane.
The note continues on the reverse;
