Description
A rare and original "stella a quattro braccia" ("star with four arms") chandelier or flush mount ceiling light, by Angelo Lelli for Arredoluce, Italy, circa 1960. This elegant design features a polished brass structure with four radiating arms, each supporting a thick frosted glass globe shade. The fixture is anchored by a central canopy painted in a soft white/cream color.
Designed by Angelo Lelii in the 1959, this light embodies the style of its era with a simple yet geometric composition. The aesthetic tension between the curved glass diffusers and the sharp angles of the brass structure reflects a broader decorative language that spanned interiors and architecture at the time. Among the most successful interpretations of this approach were those by Lelii, whose work with Arredoluce defined a distinct and instantly recognizable style. The rational design of this suspension light, with its brass supports, combines clean architectural lines with a beautifully diffused glow.
Registered in the Arredoluce Archives, this piece is completely original and in good condition, showing some light paint loss on the canopy and natural signs of oxidation on the brass frame that enhance its patina.
