Art Deco Machine Age Skyscraper Style Chrome & Opaque / Pressed Glass Pendant
-
Description
This sophisticated Machine Age Art Deco pendant was realized in the United States, circa 1935. It features an opaque body with bars of ribbed lines in relief descending vertically. The body is separated by a chrome band from the translucent pressed glass bottom which features both channeled and geometric detailing including stylized sunrise motifs. The skyscraper style form of the base is reiterated in the chrome top which attaches to the ceiling via a chrome rod and canopy. With its clean lines and modernist design, inspired by urban architecture, this piece embodies the qualities that discerning collectors of Machine Age Art Deco absolutely adore. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The height can be adjusted to suit.
