Description
This stunning and dramatic Mid-Century Modern chandelier was realized by the legendary atelier of Bakalowits and Söhne in Austria circa 1960. It offers a spherical body in polished chrome with an abundance of translucent glass cylindrical rods exploding outwards, creating a form bursting with verve and dynamism. The base of the body remains open allowing light to gently diffuse into any interior space. This represents one of Bakalowits & Söhne's (and 20th century lighting design, in general's) most iconic and sought after fixtures. Its monochromatic palate and clean modernist lines make this piece well suited to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The fixture accommodates 1 bulb offering up to 150 watts of light.
