Description
This exceptional pair of Mid-Century Modern sconces by Glashütte Limburg represents the perfect union of simplicity, elegance, and craftsmanship for which the German lighting company is renowned. Designed circa 1960, these wall sconces feature scalloped molded glass shades with intricate fluted detailing, softened by a frosted finish that gently diffuses light to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The glass shades are mounted on polished brass fittings, providing a striking visual contrast between the sleek metal hardware and the softly textured glass. These sconces are a quintessential example of Mid-Century Modern design, effortlessly blending form and function. The symmetry and clean lines make them versatile for a wide range of interior styles, from modern and minimalist spaces to more transitional environments.
Each piece is signed "Glashütte Limburg", underscoring their authenticity and provenance. These fixtures showcase the enduring quality and timeless appeal of vintage German design. Newly rewired to American Standards, these sconces accommodate one edison base bulb each, achieving up to 100 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
