Description
Exceptional Art Deco sculpture/lamp by Max Le Verrier (1891-1973) representing a monkey under an umbrella. It is titled La Pluie "The Rain" or Le Singe au Parapluie "Monkey with an Umbrella". Model created around 1925-1927 and rewarded at the Salon des Humoristes (Humorists Exhibition) in Paris in 1927.
Table lamp with two bulbs.
Casting bronze with antic green patina. The lamp shade is original and made of frosted glass. Hexagonal base in veined black marble.
Signed on the base "Le Verrier".
Ancient edition which is very rare. Some wear and tear on the patina (see pictures) consistent with age.
