Pair of Iridiscent and Clear Paneled Murano Sconces by Mazzega, Italy, 1960s
-
Description
A gorgeous pair Mid-Century Modernist sconces, both consisting of a folded iridescent handblown iridescent and clear Murano glass section, by Mazzega. White enameled back plates each fitted with two candelabra sockets each supporting up to 60W are covered by a circular piece of glass with vertical banding, interchanging between textured clear and iridescent glass. The folds extend to the sides of the back plates giving it a seamless aesthetic. A slight bowed curve, due to the circular nature of the glass, appears on the top and bottom of each sconce. They have been completely rewired and are in excellent condition.
