Description
Pair of Belle Époque clear cut and etched glass 6-light chandeliers
Continental, 20th Century
Height 70cm, diameter 64cm
Crafted in the Belle Époque style popular in France in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this pair of chandeliers would make a refined and elegant addition to an interior space.
Six curved arms extend from the top, each one formed with a rope-like pattern. These terminate with a charming selection of cut glass pendants and flower finials. The central column is formed from a large piece of cut glass, its pared-down design giving space for the other, more ornate pieces. Towards the base of the chandeliers, a further six arms extend outwards, ending with glass hurricane shades with gently wavy rims. Each one is expertly etched with floral motifs. Below is a collection of speared pendants, droplets, and flower-shaped finials. Both chandeliers are of an identical design. -
