"Black Eyed Susan" Hanging Shade

Price Upon Request
  • Description
This Hanging Tiffany Lamp is an extremely rare variation of the company’s Black Eyed Susan leaded glass shade. Tiffany Studios produced a series of smaller leaded glass shades for table lamps depicting the yellow summer flower, but the hanging shade regularly produced by the company was an unusual example with a pointed domed form. This example, which takes the more typical 28” conical form used by Tiffany Studios for their hanging shades, is one of only a handful of known examples of this shade form depicting the Black Eyed Susan flower.

The leaded glass shade utilizes a variety of shades of mottled and streaky Tiffany Glass to depict the vibrant yellow flowers, including a bright yellow glass for the blossoms and a deep earthy tone for their centers, while the green stems and leaves harmonize with the flowers and the variegated background of the shade.

This unusual Tiffany Hanging Shade is signed.
