Discus 5 by Volker Haug Dimensions: 9 x H min 106 cm Materials: Linished, polished or bronzed brass, steel, marble disc Finish: Raw, satin lacquer or enamel Weight: approximate 2.7kg Lamp: 240V E27 (120V E26 US) Custom finishes available on request. Hard materials create a soft presence in the Discus series. Balancing platforms of honed stone rest on lengths of brass. Assembled as a pendant with large or small discs (Discus 2 and Discus 5) or as a wall fitting with marble arch connectors (Wall Discus). Honed by hand and pictured here with Rosa Aurora marble; and linished brass. Custom stones and suspensions are available. Volker Haug Studio is an international lighting design practice based in Melbourne, Australia. The multidisciplinary design and production teams work on lighting concepts across architectural scales and contexts. The Studio adopts a spirited design approach that engages with the curiosity of the viewer to produce a decorative lighting range that is at once playful and functional, sculptural and surprising. Working with metals, stone, ceramic and glass, each of our lights is assembled and finished by hand in our workshop.
