Italian Mid-Century Modern Venetian Braided Mirror with Murano Glass Appliqués

Description
This exquisite mirror was realized in Murano, Italy the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production, circa 1950. It features a two tiered octagonal body with the borders of tier is wrapped in translucent Murano braided glass. Additionally, there are Murano rosettes and stylized foliate and geometric reverse etched detailing throughout, testifying to the fact that no detail was overlooked in its construction. This is a first rate example of midcentury Venetian Murano mirrors, sure to delight discerning collectors of the period, who recognize the very best. Its clean lines and monochromatic palate make this piece equally well suited for any interior regardless of the style of interior, blending perfectly with everything from Art Deco to contemporary decor. It is in excellent vintage condition.
