Description
This striking Art Deco figurative table lamp, model #L220, is a testament to the innovative design and craftsmanship of FrankArts, an American manufacturer renowned for their exceptional lighting during the Art Deco period. Dating to circa 1935, this lamp showcases the bold geometries and streamlined elegance characteristic of the Art Deco aesthetic.
The lamp features a sculptural turquoise base, ingeniously designed as inverted nudes. The figures are posed with their hands supporting their hips, thrusting their legs and feet upward to elegantly cradle the base of the shade. This daring and expressive design captures the dynamic energy and sensuality of the era, while the vibrant turquoise finish adds a striking pop of color to the piece.
Atop the base sits a distinctive green craqueleur glass shade, which perfectly complements the turquoise tones of the base. The shade’s craqueleur finish creates a textured surface, catching and diffusing the light in a soft, atmospheric manner. The interplay between the sculptural base and the delicate shade highlights the thoughtful attention to material, form, and artistry that defined the work of FrankArts.
This Art Deco table lamp is a seamless blend of form and function, embodying the era’s fascination with modernity, luxury, and artistry. Its compact size and sculptural qualities make it ideal for use on a side table, console, or desk, adding a touch of vintage charm and understated elegance to any space. Newly rewired to American Standards, this lamp accommodates one edison base bulb achieving up to 100 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
